From helping the Bat to fighting the Apes.
Deadline reports that The Dark Knight Rises actor Gary Oldman has been cast in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, the sequel to 2011’s massively successful Planet of the Apes reboot/prequel Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
Oldman joins a list of actors that already includes Zero Dark Thirty’s Jason Clarke and The Road’s Kodi-Smit McPhee. Longtime J.J. Abrams collaborator and Cloverfield/Let Me In director Matt Reeves is helming the project.
According to the article, Oldman will play Dreyfuss, the leader of a human resistance who square off against the ape takeover of Earth.
The film is marked for a May 23, 2014 summer release.
