The Fault In Our Stars author John Green has penned the introduction to a book about the teenage girl and cancer patient for whom the book is dedicated, according to The Associated Press.
Green’s introduction will be featured in This Star Won’t Go Out: The Life and Words of Esther Grace Earl, a collection of essays and artwork by Earl, a teenage cancer patient best known for her YouTube vlogs about her illness and being one of Green’s “Nerdfighters.”
Earl died in 2010 at the age of 16.
In addition to the book, which will be published in 2014, there is also a foundation of the same name that helps families with cancer-stricken children.
Green’s best-selling novel, The Fault In Our Stars, is about a teenage girl with terminal cancer who falls in love with a boy in her support group.
