In a bit of surprising news, Queens of the Stone Age has signed to Matador Records for their latest release, the previously announced ...Like Clockwork. The band was signed to Interscope Records for albums Rated R, Songs for the Deaf and Era Vulgaris.
The album doesn’t have a set release date, but QOTSA’s website and Matador’s press release promise a June release date. This marks the first full-length album for the band since 2007’s Era Vulgaris. Matador is also set to re-release the band’s debut album.
The press release also confirms the star-studded album’s lineup, with guest appearances from drummers Dave Grohl, Joey Castillo (who was the band’s touring drummer for years) and Jon Theodore of The Mars Volta and One Day as a Lion. Other guest appearances include Elton John, long-time QOTSA collaborators Mark Lanegan and Nick Oliveri, Trent Reznor, Jake Shears, James Lavelle and Alex Turner.
The band notes to keep an eye out for a full album and tour announcement in the near future.
