Graphic designer and street artist Jay Shells is known as somewhat of a vigilante around New York with his street etiquette signs telling pedestrians and subway riders how to behave properly in public. His most recent project, “Rap Quotes,” is a set of signs quoting Hip-Hop songs—and placing the signs in the exact location the song references.
Shells’ awesome (and totally illegal) signs are placed on posts by the artist himself—nonchalantly wearing an orange vest and carrying a step stool. His gutsy approach recently leaked into the mainstream media when he appeared on, and successfully Punk’d Fox News, essentially comparing the station to horse—well, just watch the video.
Check out his street signs in their locations. You can also purchase these signs on his Etsy page.
