By far, one of the most anticipated films of 2013 is the long-awaited adaptation of Orson Scott Card’s Ender’s Game. What’s more anticipated, however, is how the film—directed by X-Men Origins: Wolverine director Gavin Hood—will visualize The Battle Room, the zero-gravity training ground where Ender (Asa Butterfield) and his fellow cadets train to do battle against alien invaders.
Well, thanks to the new poster courtesy of Lionsgate, audiences now have their first look at how the adaptation will interpret Card’s world.
In an interview with Yahoo, Hood further elaborated on how the the room will be presented.
This is the high school football field, only it’s in three dimensions,” he said. “It’s the size of a football field in all directions: up, down, left, right. And the idea is teams jump out from opposite ends of this amazing space and play this amazing game of 3D paintball, almost.”
The film, which co-stars Harrison Ford, Abigail Breslin, Ben Kingsley, Viola Davis and Hailee Steinfeld, will hit theaters on Nov. 1, 2013.
