Whisky-maker Ballantine’s and Scottish illustrator Steven Bonner have partnered to create a whisky-inspired typeface that looks good enough to drink.
In celebration of Ballantine’s 12-year-old Scotch whisky, Bonner and digital agency Work Club produced a custom typeface to showcase the distinctive tasting notes of the whisky. Bonner first created the illustrated letterforms that explore predominate tasting notes in the whisky such as B (berries), C (cream), V (vanilla) and H (honey). He then created the complete typeface with a standard and flourished version of each character. The letterforms can even be mixed and matched to create a custom Facebook image.
