Fiona Apple’s emotional honesty has made her one of the most incisive and fascinating artists in recent years. Unfortunately for fans, it has also made her somewhat unpredictable when it comes to performing live.
Early this November, Apple cancelled a series of dates, stating (in a handwritten note posted on her website) that she wanted to spend time with Janet, her dying dog.
Now, it looks as though Apple has cancelled what was going to be her only schedule tour appearance this year—Primavera Festival in Barcelona, Spain. According to Pitchfork, festival reps have not given a definite reasoning for the cancellation aside from stating that it is due to “reasons beyond the control of the organisers of the festival.”
FIDLAR, Crime and the City Solution and Foxygen (who have cancelled the entirety of their post-SXSW tour) have also recently dropped out of the music fest, which is scheduled to take place form May 22-26. Perhaps to make up for the string of cancelations, Phosphorescent, DJ Koze, Djang Django, The Drones and Scuba have recently been added to the lineup.
