We’ve all been on the sending and receiving side of the mailbox, but what happens in the time and space between? Industrial and interaction designer Ruben van der Vleuten wanted the answer.
A Google search could have turned up a myriad of how-to articles, but van der Vleuten did what any curious and creative person would—he fitted a hidden camera inside a package and filmed the whole process.
The end result is From A to B, a time-lapse video of the package as it makes its way from home to destination. Van der Vleuten equipped the package with a small camera and timer circuit to take a few seconds of video every minute. From the back of the post office to the inside workings of a distribution center, van der Vleuten’s short video is an interesting peek behind the curtain of the mail delivery process.
