Anthony Bourdain’s newest travel series Parts Unknown, which centers around mostly unknown locales, made its debut last night on CNN.
In the first episode, the culinary icon explores Myanmar in Southeast Asia. The remaining six episodes will feature Bourdain traveling to secret hideaways in Los Angeles, Peru, Congo and more.
Bourdain explored the music world in his previous series, No Reservations, with appearances from The Black Keys, Neon Indian and Sleigh Bells. Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme appeared on Bourdain’s Travel Channel series before and became friends with the hilariously blunt host. Bourdain asked Homme and QOTSA collaborator Mark Lanegan to pen the theme song for his latest series.
“When you hear the new title music for Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown your head will explode, leaving only a smoking stump,” Bourdain said in a statement. “When we heard what (Homme and Lanegan) had come up with, there was weeping and jaw-droppage.”
