John Fogerty released the first track from his upcoming album, Wrote a Song For Everyone, which features an appearance from Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl.
The album features all John Fogerty and CCR tracks re-recorded with a special guest. Collaborators include My Morning Jacket, Bob Seger, Kid Rock, Brad Paisley and more. The album is slotted for a May 28 release with a concert (and Fogerty’s birthday celebration) at Los Angeles’ El Rey Theatre.
The track shows a gritty, modern take on “Fortunate Son,” originally recorded in 1969 by Creedence Clearwater Revival. Grohl takes over the vocals for the opening verse and the rest of the Foo Fighters fall in line while backing Fogerty.
