Based on the advertising blitz that has been building to tonight’s SNL appearance, Kanye West’s follow-up to the universally acclaimed My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy was expected to be imminent. Now, we have a date to go with our hunch: June 18.
According to Rap-Up (via Pitchfork), the new album will be titled Yeezus , marking Kanye West’s sixth solo LP, not counting his work with Jay-Z on Watch The Throne. The collection, to be released by Def Jam, has been reported to feature Daft Punk, TNGHT, Skrillex, and Chief Keef, among others.
Plus, the word is that it is Frank Ocean singing on the end of “New Slaves.” I guess Kanye either screwed with the vocals or told Frank to take a dive.
Be sure to check out Saturday Night Live tonight where Kanye will likely debut more new music.
