Since signing a record deal earlier this year with Kobalt Music Group that promised to allow him more flexibility and control over his own releases, Prince has been steadily giving fans access to new music in an unusual manner.
Last night, the music legend continued that trend by releasing a new song called “Ain’t Gonna Miss U When U’re Gone” via the website for his new band, 3rdEyeGirl.com. The six-minute track features singer/songwriter Ledisi, who accompanies the seven-time Grammy Award-winning artist on vocals.
The track follows a series of other releases that are available exclusively at the new website and continues to fuel speculation that Prince may be releasing a new album in the coming year.
Until the album is announced, fans can look forward to hearing Prince on R&B singer Janelle Monáe’s new album, The Electric Lady, which is due for release in September.
