To commemorate the indie label’s 25th anniversary, Sub Pop is teaming up with TOMS to create a few pieces of limited-edition footwear.
The collection will include the lace-up Paseo shoe in gray for men and the slip-on Classic in navy for men and red for women, each tattooed with a unique design courtesy of Sub Pop.
Each pair of kicks will also come complete with a download code for a sampler of new and rare tunes from artists such as Father John Misty, METZ, King Tuff, Shabazz Palaces, Mudhoney, Pissed Jeans and Shearwater. And as is TOMS’ nature, for every purchased pair of sensible shoes, the company will donate a new pair to a child in need. The collection will be available July 1 at the TOMS website, the TOMS store in Los Angeles, Nordstrom.com and the retailer’s shop in Seattle.
Folks in the Seattle area will also have the chance to attend Sub Pop’s free Silver Jubilee festival on July 12 and 13, featuring Built to Spill, Mudhoney, J Mascis, Father John Misty, Afghan Whigs’ Greg Dulli and more. The festival will benefit Seattle nonprofits 90.3 KEXP FM, Northwest Parkinson’s Foundation and Northwest Harvest.
