During an impromptu Q&A on Twitter, Jay-Z answered a fan’s question about the track “Open Letter” that was supposed to be featured on his latest album, Magna Carta Holy Grail.
Jay-Z later told Brooklyn’s Hot-97 that the track will be exclusively sold through Jack White’s Third Man Records as a “playable letter” that you open and can play on a turntable.
“Jack White, you know, aside from being a brilliant musician, he has this vinyl store so he makes these special edition vinyl, and we’re gonna put [‘Open Letter’] on the vinyl,” said Jay-Z in the radio interview. “It’s amazing. You open the letter and you can actually play the card.” Third Man Records also announced that they’ll be releasing the entire Magna Carta album on vinyl along with the special “Open Letter” single.
