Though he’s most often associated with his former band, Drive By Truckers, Jason Isbell has made a habit of releasing solid solo material since he announced his departure over six years ago.
The Paste cover man released his terrific fourth studio album, Southeastern, last month to overwhelmingly positive reception, and last night, the singer-songwriter brought his talent to The Late Show with David Letterman. The 34-year-old musician performed “Stockholm,” a highlight from the new album. Alongside him was his five-piece band, including his wife, Amanda Shires, who sang backup vocals and played the violin.
