will be returning to the medium where he got his start.
Prior to breaking out into the international market with his sophomore feature, Trainspotting, Boyle cut his teeth working as a producer for BBC Northern Ireland.
Though he’s returned to TV several times over the years, most notably as director of the London Olympics, Boyle has kept his feet firmly planted in the film world for the past two decades.
Today, however, Radio Times revealed that Boyle will be heading to Channel 4 to direct a “police drama” penned by Sam Bains and Jesse Armstrong, the comedy team behind the long-running, first-person perspective sitcom Peep Show.
As of now, no further details have been released about the project, including the airdate or even the amount of episodes.
