Yep, you read that headline right. Ron Burgundy of Action 4 News Team in San Diego and star of the upcoming sequel Anchorman: The Legend Continues is writing his own book.
And it’s about time, right? The NY Times have said that the announcement came straight from Random House’s Crown Publishing Group.
The memoir (Burgundy’s first published piece of work) will be appropriately titled Let Me Off at the Top! My Classy Life and Other Musings. Much like the thrilling Panda report by Action 4’s Brian Fantana, we could expect this to be a rich and compelling story.
For years, he’s been our trusty anchorman telling us what’s happening in our own world, and now we finally get a tell-all look into his.The statement also said the book will “offer a rare glimpse behind the camera into the real life of a man many consider to be our greatest living news anchor.” There will no doubt be stories of women, manly mustaches and scotchy, scotch and scotch.
and Adam McKay both created Burgundy and write pretty much everything the character says, but sole writing attribution will go to Burgundy himself. “I don’t know if it’s the greatest autobiography ever written,” Burgundy said in his own statement. “I’m too close to the work.”
The memoir will hit book shelves on Nov. 19 and Anchorman 2 is scheduled to be released on Dec. 20.
