have been on fire this summer, but not in the oppressive Norwegian black metal way. Of course we mean it in the sense that every few weeks the Scottish electro-pop trio is churning out a new song, making TV debuts, announcing world tours or releasing mesmerizing videos. A few months ago the band announced the September release of their long-awaited album The Bones of What You Believe and released a kaleidoscopic video for the album’s first single “Gun.” Now the band has released an equally encapsulating video for their newest single “The Mother We Share.”
“The Mother We Share” is the opening track from the band’s forthcoming album, set for a Sept. 27 release. The video flickers between the narrative of a lonely girl traversing her way across a bleak cityscape and flashy shots of Chvrches performing their infectious track. Director S J Lee intertwines clips of the downtrodden girl with celestial backdrops for Chvrches performance until the girl finally vibes out to the powerful pop song and electrifies the whole city.
Sound confusing? It kind of is, but it’s still a pretty entrancing video. Watch it above.
