Etsy, an online community and marketplace for handmade and unique goods, is partnering with big names in blogging to launch a platform called Etsy Pages. The new feature allows selected tastemakers to create pages with items selected from the 18 million for sale on the website.
A handful of recognizable bloggers, brands and magazines were selected to help launch Pages, such as SwissMiss, Martha Stewart Weddings, Apartment Therapy and the Rhode Island School of Design. Etsy plans to enlist the editorial and curatorial skills of more brands by adding additional tastemakers to Pages in the future.
Etsy has previously partnered with larger brands to promote its community of artists and designers. This past summer the website collaborated with Nordstrom and launched Weddings with Etsy, a selection of bridal accessories from the Etsy marketplace and available through Nordstrom.
