Kimmel Says Kanye West Angrily Called Him Before Last Night’s Twitter Rant

Jimmy Kimmel  started last night’s opening monologue on Jimmy Kimmel Live! asking his audience “Did anybody else get a very angry phone call from Kanye West about an hour and a half ago? Just me?” As it turns out, this angry phone call apparently really did happen. Before West took to Twitter to air out his dirty laundry between he and the talk-show host, West issued an ultimatum. Kimmel said that Option #1 was to “apologize publicly” for a bit he had run in which kid actors reenacted some of West’s most quotable lines, and Option #2 was to, well, just apologize.

“That was really the only choice – the other choice he gave was ‘my life … your life is going to be much better if I apologize,” explained Kimmel. Since Kimmel elected not to apologize for airing the bit, Twitter chaos quickly followed. Some of the highlights of West’s Twitter tirade include “SHOULD I DO A SPOOF ABOUT YOUR FACE OR YOU FUCKING BEN AFFLECK,” “SARAH SILVERMAN IS A THOUSAND TIMES FUNNIER THAN YOU AND THE WHOLE WORLD KNOWS IT!!!” and “JIMMY KIMMEL PUT YOURSELF IN MY HOES … OH NO THAT MEANS YOU WOULD HAVE GOTTEN TOO MUCH GOOD PUSSY IN YOUR LIFE…” West even put in the added effort of creating two memes that mocked Kimmel’s face, one of which was placed over an image of Spongebob Squarepants.

“I swear to God this is true,” said Kimmel. “[West said] ‘I am the most powerful voice in media, I am PAC.’ He said ‘PAC’ a few times to me. I guess he means Tupac.” Kimmel has already gone on the offensive and has told his follows that this West-Kimmel feud is not a prank like the “twerking fail” video he made last week. West has since gone Twitter dark.
