Daft Punk to Release Deluxe Version of Random Access Memories

After releasing one of the biggest albums of the year, Daft Punk looks to continue a strong 2013 by releasing a deluxe version of Random Access Memories.

The “announcement” was made when a fan at the New York Comic Convention claimed via Twitter that she had won the first autographed copy of the album. A “Random” drawing was held, and the winner Janelle Rodriguez was awarded with a “golden ticket” for the album. The tweet was later confirmed and retweeted by Daft Punk’s label Columbia Records. Rodriguez has since posted several other tweets containing additional information about the album and photos of the golden ticket she received at the event.

Other photos from the convention have surfaced that show security guards carrying and guarding a large case with the words “Daft Punk” inscribed on the side. Harder Blogger Faster reports that the box set will feature three discs, including a DVD containing teasers and trailers for “Get Lucky,” “Lose Yourself To Dance,” and the video for “Instant Crush (feat. Julian Casablancas).” The deluxe version will reportedly contain new tracks including the Japanese bonus track “Horizon.” Disc two in the set will feature remixes by Daft Punk of songs off Random Access Memories.

According to Rodriguez’s Tweets, she is supposed to receive the album before Dec. 31, but that it could arrive as early as Thanksgiving. Could the official release date arrive just in time for the holidays? Deck the halls with Daft Punk.
