In an interview with The Wall Street Journal yesterday, Samuel L. Jackson revealed that Elizabeth Olsen will play Scarlet Witch in the upcoming Avengers sequel.
“I don’t think we begin shooting before March of next year,” Jackson said. “I know we’re shooting in London, that James Spader is Ultron and going to be the bad guy, and that we added Ms. [Elizabeth] Olsen [who will play the Scarlet Witch], but I don’t know what she’s doing, if she’s on the inside or the outside. I haven’t seen a script.”
Jackson also made an appearance on this weeks episode of ABC’s new series Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as Nick Fury. “I’m still playing the same guy, it’s the same process,” Jackson said, “I just show up and they turn the cameras on and we do it.” The show made its debut as the highest rated drama in four years with 11.9 million viewers.
The Avengers: Age of Ultron is set to be released in 2015. All original cast members including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo and Chris Evans will return for the film along with James Spader as Ultron, Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch and Kick Ass star Aaron Taylor-Johnson rumored to play the Scarlet Witch’s brother, Quicksilver.
