Zooey Deschanel is ready to go behind the scenes.
The actress has recently sold two television projects under a first-look deal with 20th Century Fox TV, Deadline reports. She developed the projects with her producing partner, Rivka Sophia Rossi—who also helps manage her website Hello Giggles with Molly McAleer of Two Broke Girls.
The New Girl star will also help to executive produce both series.
Freelancers, one of the two new comedy series, is written by Pitch Perfect author Mickey Rapkin. The project, which was purchased by Fox, documents the misadventures of a 30-year-old lawyer who lost his job and rents a spot in a shared office space, where he must deal with the eclectic group that works around him.
The other series, And Lies I Tell My Daughter, on NBC, is based on Julia Obst’s “Lies I Tell My Daughter” column for Hello Giggles. The show focuses on the parenting gaffes and triumphs of an unconventional mom. And Lies I Tell My Daughter is written by Deb Schoeneman of Girls.
