Traveling on Thanksgiving is hell. Everybody is anxious, everything is crowded and unlike Christmas, almost everyone is in the air or on the road on the exact same days. There’s a reason Planes, Trains and Automobiles revolved around getting home for Turkey Day—finding your way from point A to point B is rarely as simple as it should be, and frustration abounds.
ABC reality show producer Elan Gale found himself in the middle of the holiday transit gauntlet on Thanksgiving, his flight to Los Angeles delayed and a woman a few rows away complaining incessantly. Did Gale sit by, idle and annoyed like the rest of the flight’s passengers? No; he sent the woman a glass of wine with a passive aggressive note, his Twitter at the ready. She, of course, sent him a note back and, as Gale tweeted, the “war” was on. Scroll through Gale’s account of the entire experience and be thankful you were probably incapacitated in a recliner when it was all going down on Thanksgiving afternoon.
