Good news, Bluth buffs: Variety is reporting that Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz will soon be directing his first feature film, the pharmaceutical comedy Guinea Pigging. Written by The State veterans Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon (also known as Deputy Junior and Lt. Dangle from Reno: 911!), the movie will apparently explore the “guinea pig underground” of professional drug trial subjects.
Adored by fans of comedy and cut-offs alike for his endlessly rewatchable cult hit, Hurwitz has had a bit of a mixed record post-Arrested Development, creating the quickly canceled sitcoms Sit Down, Shut Up and Running Wilde. Hopefully this project will do a bit better, and if it doesn’t, at least he can always find money in the banana stand.
