It may not be the OutKast collective album we hoped for, but Andre 3000 and Big Boi are said to be working on forthcoming solo projects. Since Queen Latiifah retracted her statement about the duo being in the studio together, new album talk has surfaced.
According to an interview with Revolt, OutKast producer Mr. DJ says Andre 3000 and Big Boi have been hard at work recording solo at Stankonia Studios located in Atlanta. He is not positive, but thinks that Andre 3000 will drop his album sometime this year, and that Big Boi has a “fair amount” of material for his third LP.
With 40 festival tour dates in the future for OutKast, Mr. DJ also told Revolt, “I get the feeling that the energy and camaraderie from the tour will bring everything full circle… We may make it back in for an album following that.”
