Hey Britain, watch your back! Turns out, America has the ole upstairs/downstairs dynamic too, and while our class system may be more mobile and less in-your-face, money still divides. And with the news that ABC has given a straight-to-series order for David O. Russell’s new country club drama to series, we’re ready to strut our (classist) stuff. We’ll get glimpses of the rich and snooty, of course, but also the little people who mow the lawns and serve drinks and try to hide in the woods near the golf course so they don’t have to work for a precious hour. Wait, sorry—that last part was just a memory from my summer job in high school.
The show, as yet unnamed, has been commissioned for 13 episodes. Russell wrote the teleplay with Erin Brockovich screenwriter Susannah Grant, and the project was developed by CBS studios, which is farming out a show to a non-CBS-affiliated network for the first time.
