Last night, Epix was supposed to premiere Patton Oswalt’s latest stand-up special, but things didn’t quite go as planned for the young network. After significant confusion over whether Tragedy Plus Comedy Equals Time was airing on cable or online, it became clear that viewers wouldn’t be able to stream the hour-long special as scheduled anyway. Oswalt himself took to Twitter to address the apparent screw-up, saying, “This is fucking embarrassing. Sorry, everyone.”
But after slamming Epix for its complete incompetence, the comedian did his best to give fans a refund, tweeting a satirical summary of his performance that apparently included twenty minutes of soap bubble sculptures and a tiny model of Bonn, Germany made of Legos. Oswalt finally capped it all off by saying, “Thanks for nothing, [Epix]. Learn to run a fucking website.”
Fans who want to see the real Tragedy Plus Comedy Equals Time can watch it tonight on Epix or stream it now from their website, but don’t expect the network to air another Oswalt special any time soon. Check out Oswalt’s full Twitter rant, and the hilarious Twitter reenactment of his special, below.
