Sasheer Zamata Announced as <i>SNL</i>'s Newest Cast Member

A lot has been made recently about Saturday Night Live’s lack of diversity, particularly its lack of female African American cast members. SNL took steps to address the problem in early December when they held a special audition in L.A. looking exclusively for black female performers. Deadline is reporting that Sasheer Zamata will be joining the cast and will make her debut on the upcoming Jan. 18 episode that will feature Drake as host and musical guest.
