UK's Anti-Porn Filter Affecting League of Legends Update

UK-based fans of League of Legends may have some trouble downloading key files in a recent patch to the game, according to posters in the LoL sub-Reddit. Two file names in the patch, titled “VarusExpirationTimer.luaobj” and “XerathMageChainsExtended.luaobj,” include the letters “s-e-x” in succession and have been flagged as potential pornography by the UK’s recently implemented anti-porn filter.

Users affected by the change must call their internet service provider in order to opt out of the filter. Younger players of this game may run into some difficulty reassuring their parents that League of Legends is not a pornographic game, given its character designs ... but chances are, those parents have already called to opt, as this example is hardly the first time that the filter has mistakenly blocked non-pornographic content.
