Radiators are fantastic inventions. They keep us warm during the winter and give us somewhere to dry clothes on. That doesn’t mean that they work how we want them to though. How often do you find yourself with a radiator that’s far too hot? And how annoying is it having to get up every time to re-adjust them manually?
If you have a central heating system, you can always spring for a Nest device, but what about for those of us that still have an old radiator?
The new invention Cozy might be exactly the system to solve that problem.
Currently part of a Kickstarter campaign, Cozy is a designed radiator cover from New York based firm, Radiator Labs. Hooking up to your mains power and connecting to your smartphone via Wi-Fi, the gadget enables you to program times, set temperatures and even activate vacation settings, all through your smartphone.
Promising to take less than 10 minutes to set up, the device goes over your radiator with an air-hose snapping to the top, and away you go. It looks stylish but more importantly, it’s very practical.
Available in three different sizes, it’s a concept that’s been tested out in people’s apartments and really makes a difference in terms of settling the temperatures down to a much more manageable level. Overheating or freezing should be a thing of the past once you pick up one of these.
The Cozy Kickstarter campaign only has until March 6 left to run and it could do with some more help in reaching its target. That means it’s the ideal time to chip in as the Early Bird special of one Cozy for $249 is still available. Once those expire, the price will go up to $299. Surely that’s a small price to pay for the comfort of not overheating next Winter?
