If drones can deliver our Amazon packages, why can’t they go on beer runs for us?
Wisconsin-based Lakemaid Beer hoped to be the first to launch a drone-based microbrew delivery system. Inspired by Amazon, they created a video announcing their intentions to test it with thirsty ice fishers at a Minnesota resort. Unfortunately, the Federal Aviation Administration has axed their plans according to The Verge.
“They think it’s a great idea, though they’re telling me to stop,” Lakemaid president Jack Supple told The Verge.
The FAA says the beer delivery plans fall under the realm of commercial drones, and they’ll be reviewing those codes and guidelines over the next couple of years.
In the meantime, let us know what do you think. Would you support a drone delivery service for beer?
Here’s a video of how awesome Lakemaid’s beer delivery could have been.
