You know what’s better than a one-day beer release party? A five-day beer release party. This year, Founders Brewing is expanding their annual Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) release into a week-long celebration. KBS is a tasty coffee, chocolate stout that’s aged in bourbon barrels in caves below Grand Rapids, Michigan for a year. It’s one of the most highly regarded beers in the world and angels in heaven play trumpets every April when it’s released.
This year, Founders is celebrating that release with five days of pre-release parties at participating Grand Rapid bars. Fifteen bars have been given kegs of KBS, all of which will be tapped systematically between March 18 and March 21. The week will reach a crescendo on Saturday, March 22, with the KBS release party at the Founders Taproom. I think that’s when the angels play their trumpets. Go here for the full schedule so you can stalk down your share of KBS.
