With hits like The Simpsons and Family Guy, there’s no denying Fox has found success with cartoon dysfunctional families. According to Deadline, the network plans to add another less-than-ideal father to its roster, picking up a new animated comedy about a powerful but unemployed wizard.
Titled Dark Lord Of Delaware, the project centers on Zarbus, former ruler of a magical kingdom and current stay-at-home dad. Described as “Voldemort-like,” much of the show’s comedy will spring from the evil sorcerer trying (and failing) to adapt to life in suburbia.
Dark Lord Of Delaware is the creation of writing team Alan Schoolcraft and Brent Simon, who previously collaborated on DreamWork’s Megamind. Like their new project, Megamind concerned a villain forced to reevaluate his life, giving the duo some experience when it comes to writing a bad guy turned good.
