Since LCD Soundsystem called it quits, James Murphy has been dabbling in many different projects. Whether it is working on films, producing records or making music in New York’s subways, Murphy always makes time for coffee. Murphy recently teamed up with Blue Bottle Coffee to make his own signature bean blend available to those in need of a quick caffeine fix. Dubbed “House of Good” after a café and retail space that Murphy will soon open in Brooklyn, the espresso is described as being “syrupy, well-balanced and thoroughly accessible.”
Blue Bottle adds: “Its flavor profile – dried cherry, cocoa, meyer lemon – is a harmony between the voluptuous and the austere: It’s akin to the second movement of Carl Nielsen’s Symphony No. 3 – or, perhaps, to that buzzing, syncopated synth line from ‘Dance Yrself Clean.’ Depends on which James you ask.” The espresso is going for $26.00 per pound and you can buy it here.
