Many people have found themselves obsessed with Law & Order at some point during its 20 season run. Whether it’s the high drama, the real life scenarios or the good-hearted, justice-seeking characters that draw viewers in, the show has a consistently large following.
Artist Jeffrey Thompson is a bit obsessed with the Law & Order series, but for a very different reason. While watching each episode, Thompson doesn’t try to guess the culprit by the end of the show, nor does he get wrapped up in any back-story, like most viewers. Instead, he keeps a watchful eye open for computers. Any scene that includes a computer is documented in Thompson’s blog entitled Computers On Law & Order. As as a result of his painstaking attention to this particular detail in the show, New Jersey based artist has used Law and Order to map the change in technology throughout the years.
Thompson’s work will be showcased in an exhibit at the Museum of Moving Image in New York City, beginning Feb. 1.
