and Evan Goldberg pulled all their friends together to end the world, so what better way to unwind from than with some old-school videogames? According to Collider, producer Scott Rudin bought the film rights to Blake Harris’ Console Wars: Sega, Nintendo and the Battle that Defined a Generation, and tabbed Rogen and Goldberg to write and direct.
Considering The Social Network started as a Rudin production based on an unpublished book, this movie might have a similar bent, regardless of its writer/director team’s funny credentials. There’s also no word on when it will all come together, as Rogen and Goldberg are also tied up with killing Kim Jong-un, adapting Preacher into an AMC series and creating a R-rated animated movie called Sausage Party. Either way, we can only hope at least one of those projects features the classic Console Wars-era character of James Pond, who surely deserves some form of a movie adaptation by now.
