American fashion designer Alexander Wang took to Instagram this weekend to release a flashy video in order to announce his upcoming collaboration with Swedish retail corporation H&M. According to the enigmatic 10-second clip, shoppers should expect the collection in-stores and online Nov. 6 of this year.
Wang, winner of the 2013 ‘Fashion Star’ award and current Creative Director of Balenciaga, said of the partnership, “I am very honored to be a part of H&M’s designer collaborations. The work with their team is an exciting, fun process. They are very open to pushing boundaries and to setting a platform for creativity. This will be a great way for a wider audience to experience elements of the Alexander Wang brand and lifestyle.”
H&M creative advisor Margareta van den Bosch shared Wang’s enthusiasm. “Alexander Wang is one of the most important voices in fashion today. He understands exactly what people want to wear and does it with an energy and passion that’s infectious. It feels incredible to be collaborating with him this year.”
This affiliation comes hot on the heels of H&M’s 2013 line with French designer Isabel Marant. Other designs for the brand have come from industry icons such as Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Lanvin, and Versace.
