What started as just another NYC kickstarter is quickly blooming into a support system for artists and thinkers all over the world.
Baron Fig is the brainchild of graphic designer Joey Cofone, with friends Adam Kornfield and Scott Robertson. Throughout May, the site released images of graphics and silkscreen posters, integrating the work of different artists with the quotes that inspire them. A common purple and gold color scheme ties the whole set together.
With quotes from playwrights like Samuel Beckett and writers like Joseph Campbell, each poster encapsulates Baron Fig’s “don’t just think, act” agenda. Cofonehas the philosophy to back his projects—the name comes from symbols of Apollo and Dionysus, Greek Gods of discipline and impulse-—and the integrity to keep them sustainable. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the poster project go straight back to the artists, who range from grad students to professional illustrators.
The 12 posters go on sale June 2, but make sure to sign up for the mailing list, as each poster is limited edition and they’re sure to go fast.
