The world has ended due to a global warming experiment gone bad and the only way to survive is to ride a continuously moving train.
That’s the basis for Snowpiercer from South Korean director Joon-ho Bong. The film is based on French graphic novel Le Transpercenege. However, it wouldn’t be post-apocalyptic thriller without an angry lower-class who must stage a revolution against the upper-class. Star Chris Evans and his team of grimy back-of-the-train passengers must fight their way to the hoity toity front, which is led by Tilda Swinton, a classic haves versus the have-nots story. Will anybody survive the battle inside of the iron box?
Snowpiercer also stars John Hurt, Jamie Bell, Octavia Spencer, Alison Pill, Ed Harris and veteran Korean actor Song Kang-ho.
The film opens in theaters on June 27.
