Thanks to freak-out classics like Eraserhead and Lost Highway, David Lynch’s name is pretty much synonymous with surrealist horror. So it’s hard to imagine what could make the director’s cult TV show Twin Peaks any spookier. Except, maybe, for recasting it with a bunch of dead-eyed foam puppets.
In a series of imaginative watercolors, artist Justin DeVine has done just that, bringing Jim Henson’s beloved creations to television’s favorite logging town/extra-dimensional portal. In this reality, it’s Kermit the Frog, not Kyle MacLachlan, admiring the Double R’s damn good coffee and Miss Piggy who’s found wrapped in clear plastic. You can order a prints of DeVine’s illustrations here or check some of them out above.
