Pop Chart Lab Redesigns a Science Staple to Create the The Periodic Table of Hip-Hop

Pop Chart Lab is at it again. On the heels of their Hip-Hop Flow Chart: A Ranking of Rappers by Size of Vocabulary, the design studio has released their latest chart The Periodic Table of Hip-Hop.

Created in partnership with the A3C Festival, “this tabular arrangement of eminent MCs catalogues 223 naturally occurring, never-word-slurring artists in all, from N(as) and (Dr) Dre to (Mf) Doom and (A$)AP Rocky to (D)rake and Snoop D-O-(gg),” says their website.

Their take on the period table features rappers and hip hop groups hand illustrated with caricatures of each artist, a color-coded labeling system for denoting genre, along with details on debut year, geographic origin, and special designation for artists responsible for launching a new style within hip hop.

The Periodic Table of Hip-Hop is available as a 24” x 18” poster on the Pop Chart Lab website. The first 500 prints are signed and numbered. As an extra bonus, purchasers of the poster will receive a discount code for the 10th anniversary A3C Festival this October in Atlanta, Georgia.
