The Roles of a Lifetime: Jeff Bridges

Many moviegoers know him as the affable stoner in The Big Lebowski (1998), but Jeff Bridges started out as the boy next door. Born to actor parents, he made his first film appearance at four months old, and as a child he was a familiar face in family-friendly fare like the late-1950s TV series Sea Hunt. But with his first major film role in The Last Picture Show (1971), for which he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at age 22, Bridges proved that he’s always been the dude. See how he got from there to here (his latest project, The Giver, is set for release August 15), in our photo gallery of his film career.
