Most of us are familiar with the acting work of Elizabeth McGovern, an Oscar-nominated actress known to Downton Abbey fans across the world as Lady Cora, Countess of Grantham. What you might not know, however, is that since 2008, McGovern also has a music career—her band, Sadie and the Hotheads, has released three albums in the U.K. and toured successfully there. Now, McGovern is bringing Sadie and the Hotheads across the Atlantic for their first American tour.

McGovern and her six-person band will play ten American dates in December, starting in Washington, DC and wrapping up in Hartford, CT. You can check out the list of dates below. In a statement, McGovern said the following: “I’m so looking forward to traveling through America with Sadie and the Hotheads. It’s an absolutely fabulous group of musicians, adored in England, and I think America will love them. Also, I get to see America afresh through their eyes. We’ll have the Nashville great: Barry Walsh on piano, because Gretchen Peters is letting us borrow him! Not only will we be thrilled by this new blood but he can tell us where to eat on the road. I literally can’t wait to get going! It’s going to be a great show.”

McGovern’s musical style consists of sultry vocals, quirky lyrics and an overall charismatic stage presence. The band has just completed a 27-date British tour with Mike and the Mechanics—McGovern would often rush straight to the venues from filming Downton Abbey. The band released their third album, Still Waiting, just this year. You can check out a video performance of “Everybody’s Got A Song” in the player below.
