Amidst all the hoopla and grandeur and free music albums of yesterday’s big Apple announcement in California, Engadget reported a sneaky move on Apple’s part in regards to one of its oldest products.
When the Apple site was updated with info on the iPhone 6 and Apple Watch, the iPod classic was completely missing, meaning the good news of yesterday also brought with it the unannounced demise of a classic product.
So, no more iPods with click wheels on them and no more iPods that can hold greater than 64GB of music. The iPod classic was a preference for people with large music collections, as it could store up to 160GB. Out with the old and in with the new, as they say.
