Music Nerds Rejoice! A Visual Guide to Musical Notation

Music nerds rejoice! Brooklyn-based Pop Chart Lab’s latest poster features symbols and ideograms of classical sheet music.

A Visual Guide to Musical Notation charts everything composers and players of music could want. “From basic notes and rests (whole, half, quarter) to the variety of clefs (treble, F-, C-) to the dynamic world of crescendos and diminuendos, this sharp-looking symphony of symbology features over 100 hand-illustrated musical marks arranged by type and function, boasting a well-measured composition that’s pitch-perfect for the home, office, or orchestra pit,” says their website.

Pop Chart Lab has created musical-themed posters before, from The Periodic Table of Hip-Hop to A Ranking of Rappers by Size of Vocabulary. This latest release certainly takes a more classical approach to the genre.

A Visual Guide to Musical Notation is available as a 18” x 24” poster on the Pop Chart Lab website. The first 500 prints are signed and numbered.
