Feels a bit strange on principle to write an online feature about a magazine called Print Isn’t Dead. However, the turn to web-based media never fazed People of Print, the organization behind the magazine’s Kickstarter-backed creation.
Based out of London, People of Print is an online community that showcases artists who use the process of print in their work. The aptly titled Print Isn’t Dead compiles the most noteworthy work featured on their website. Founder Marcroy Smith tells design blog It’s Nice That, ”[Print Isn’t Dead] is here to show off the different elements and effects that you can achieve through print.” The magazine’s color palette sings with the addition of fluorescent spot color Pantone 805C to the CMYK process on top-notch Fedrigoni Arcoprint paper.
Only 1,000 copies exist of the first issue of Print Isn’t Dead, and there will be no reprints. If you can’t get your hands on a copy this go-round, you can read an e-version of the magazine. We’ve featured a few stand-out spreads in the gallery above!
