On Monday, Bosnia-Herzegovina played host to Belgium in a European Championships qualifier. The two Group B teams split the points, as the game finished in a 1-1 draw. More notably, upon completion of the match, fans on both sides of the stadium took the opportunity to do something rare in modern soccer: be friendly.
Fan groups for both participants chanted each other’s names back and forth and then, evidently, decided they wanted keepsakes to remember the evening. Thus, despite being separated by two fences and a neutral zone, supporters used security personnel as intermediaries to trade apparel back and forth.
