Emma Watson’s speech to the United Nations on feminism and gender equality set the internet ablaze last week. The HeForShe campaign that has followed has seeming been everywhere.
In fact, the eagle-eyed among you might have noticed New York design studio DIA’s striking visual identity for the campaign. Having the masculine and feminine symbols intersect, with the shockingly bright pink masculine arrow supporting the black lines that complete the feminine cross, has nice visual wit in addition to a markedly clear message. It also looks rather eye-catching repeated, evoking a houndstooth pattern.
What do you think? Did DIA nail the right look for for working toward gender equality? Or is using pink to support women too cliché?
