Sometimes, you have to pair your dragonfruit with bacon.
Chef Watson, a new app from IBM, takes a library of Bon Appétit‘s recipes and a basic understanding of how flavors work together to create new and bizarre concoctions. Since the strength of this Iron Chef cheatsheet is bold, unusual combinations, the visual identity had to be just as bold and unusual.
Enter designer Leta Sobierajski. Her work on the Chef Watson images bring together oddly colored fruit, geometric structures and irresponsible use of condiments. Sobierajski’s limits were only the color palette; everything else was up to her.
“It was a fun, messy, and somewhat stinky project that left me sticky and smelling like ketchup,” Sobierajski says. Which may not be that far off from what people using the Chef Watson would say. The app is currently in beta, but you can sign up to test it here.
